General information about public transport in Prague can also be found on the SWC website. To search for transport connections, you can use the websites of PID (Prague Integrated Transport) or DPP (Prague Public Transit Company), as well as other transport-related websites or mobile applications.
If you use public transport regularly, it is worth obtaining a prepaid travel card or using the mobile application called “Lítačka”. In everyday Czech, lítačka (with a lowercase “L”) is a word used in general for a prepaid travel card for public transport.
The faculty buildings are all located in zone 0, while BIOCEV in Vestec is in the outer zone 1.
A ticket for the metro, tram, or bus can also be used for train travel, provided it is a local passenger (non-express) train. When using suburban lines (S lines), please check the PID zone map to ensure your ticket covers the correct zones.
The nearest railway station to the faculty buildings is Nádraží Vršovice. The main transfer hubs in the city centre are Hlavní nádraží (Main Station), Masarykovo nádraží, and Smíchovské nádraží.
When travelling by private car, please note that Prague operates a parking zone system, marked by blue (residential) and purple (visitors´) zones. Purple zones are predominant around all faculty buildings. Current parking tariffs vary depending on the street and district; rates are always displayed on parking meters and in official parking applications.
