eduroam Wireless Network

Most classrooms and social areas in the Faculty buildings are covered with a Wi-Fi signal as part of the eduroam international university network (eduroam.cz). eduroam means free Wi-Fi, and not just at our Faculty – you can connect to it from academic institutions, libraries, train stations, and hospitals.

CESNET is the eduroam provider in the Czech Republic. It is an association that also provides other services (subject to logging in). These include:

• OwnCloud – secure storage, sharing, and synchronisation of as much as 100 GB of data (available for Windows, Linux, OS X, Android, iOS); owncloud.cesnet.cz

• FileSender – rapid file transfer and short-term data depository for up to 500 GB of data; filesender.cesnet.cz

• MetaCentrum – resource-intensive calculations at metacentrum.cz

• Web conferences – online meetings and seminars in the web browser environment; vidcon.cesnet.cz
