• Annual Leave
Academic staff are entitled to 8 weeks of annual leave per calendar year.
Other employees are entitled to 5 weeks of annual leave per calendar year.
The timing of annual leave must be approved by the employee’s supervisor.
Depending on the internal practice of the department, the request for annual leave may be submitted either
– in writing using a printed form via the departmental secretary, or
– by email addressed to the supervisor.
• Personal Development Days (DOR)
Additional paid leave days, referred to as DOR (an abbreviation of the Czech term Dny osobního rozvoje – Personal Development Days), are a benefit available to employees who meet the conditions set by the Dean.
Eligibility depends primarily on the employment workload (FTE) and the length of employment during the given calendar year.
Employees should consult their departmental secretary / administrator to find out whether they are entitled to DOR and how to apply for their use.
• Public Holidays
On public holidays (see the list on the SWC website), employees do not attend work, but are entitled to regular pay for that day.
If a public holiday falls on a weekend, it is not compensated by any additional day off during the working week, nor is it subject to any extra payment.
