Will I have health insurance? To what extent?

All foreign nationals employed on the territory of the Czech Republic are automatically included in the public health insurance system. The employer is obligated to inform the health insurance company at the beginning and end of an employee’s term of employment and pay health insurance premiums for the employee. The contributions are set at 13.5% of gross income; 4.5% is taken from the employee’s pay and the employer pays 9% directly. Each insured person receives a health insurance card from the insurer within one month of commencing employment.
